| Pretty boring episode. Just a breathing room after an intense battle. Nice to see Saber adjusting to Shirou's life style. She looks great in her dress attire and jacket. Taiga and Sakura's reaction to Saber staying with Shirou were priceless. I thought Sakura was gonna be jealous. That ending tho..........Rin....you won't! I bet she ain't got the guts to kill useless Shirou. |

| Wow. I made a serious error watching Fate/Zero first. Don't get me wrong, I loved Fate/Zero but it would have been SO much easier to understand if I'd had all this exposition and mechanics explanation. They really throw you in the deep end in Fate/Zero but this is a nice and slow trickle effect of introducing characters and plot. With Fate/Zero, you pretty much know the 7 players and 7 servants by the end of episode 1 (certainly by episode 2) but there's still a tonne we don't know yet here... Have we really only met 3 Masters and 4 servants? Still a few to go. |

| fate zero saber: a layered persona with deep character writing, headstrong in her beliefs and ideals, will give her all for the sake of honour and justice fate stay night saber: waifu speaking of which, I finally realized: why indeed can't or won't she de-materialize?? And man, I freaking love Shirou dude. I like when he saw saber and sensei kazuki whatever having a stand off, and he immediately steps in front of saber with his arms stretched out wide, almost like as if he was saying "NO TOUCHIE, MINE!!!" Love the cringe stretching your hand out to the sky move he does at the start of the OP though. I do NOT love that shot where he's lying on the dojo floor with saber watching him sleeping apparently, only to immediately open his eyes and turn to saber and give this creepy asf smile. Maybe he wasn't sleeping and was just panting and tired and catching his breath, but that still doesn't make it much less weird. At least at the start we got a bit more of a proper explanation as to why Ilya pulled berserker out of that fight in the last episode. Apparently it would simply be "too boring" to kill them right then and there. Wow. Excellent script writing that's so deep, definitely not for the sole purpose of extending the fight. But hey, not ufotable's fault, they're just doing the best (and it's pretty freaking good) with what they can with the source material of the visual novels. They probably made it even better than it was. Also, Shirou apparently was really good at archery?? HMMMMMM That would be spectacular if Rin actually would kill Shirou later. |
