Despite a sweet heart, Gojou is friendless and spends all his time crafting Hina dolls. He winds up forming an unlikely relationship with popular, lively, and open-minded gyaru Kitagawa as he starts making her dresses to assist with her passion of cosplay.

Really excellent with several impeccable cute and intimate moments. Very ecchi.

Stunningly beautiful Komi is unable to speak to others due to crippling social anxiety despite earnestly wanting to make friends. Everyone assumes she is ignoring them, except for Tadano who is exceptionally gifted at reading people. Tadano forms a friendship with Komi and helps her make friends with a very colorful cast of characters, but she doesn't forget the guy who made it happen.

One of anime's most lovable girls blessing us with so many adorable moments paired with one of the more well-adjusted main guys in anime.

Unique/crazy/raunchy sense of humor, weird/uncomfortable at times early on due to crazy side characters but that aspect settles down and it becomes an absolute gem. High quality too, until production quality suddenly falls off a cliff in the last couple of episodes of S2.

Beautiful badass Shikimori protects her sweet boyfriend Izumi from his perilously bad luck as they happily spend their days together.

Consistently cute, easy watching. They're a couple from the start but still shy and cute about it. All characters are likable, which definitely isn't common.

Shiraishi is so nondescript he blends into the background to the point that he's invisible to other people. That is, except for Kubo who sees him perfectly fine and enjoys provoking reactions by giving him attention he's not accustomed to receiving.

Very soft and cute show with continuous gentle, happy vibes.

Elite, high-class student council members Shinomiya and Shirogane are in love with each other, but their pride demands that they make the other confess their feelings first to assert dominance in the relationship.

More comedy than romantic development, but a top-tier comedy focused on a mutually pining couple. Super funny.

Himuro descends from a wintery yokai and thus unwillingly creates snow or ice around him whenever he experiences strong emotions. This starts to become an issue since he's crushing hard on his super cool and beautiful coworker Fuyutsuki at his new job.

The main couple in this show are so freakin' cute it's ridiculous! Himuro especially. Light, chill, and cute show. Multiple couples.

Nakami can't sleep at night. Desperate for a secluded place to get some rest during the day, he discovers his free spirited classmate Magari napping in the school observatory. Relating over their shared sleep disorder they become fast friends, pass their sleepless evenings together, and hunker down in their new secret hideaway.

Atmospheric, sweet, and things get cozy 😊 It has times where it feels like it might get dark but it doesn't really. Satisfying progression.

Mie is a bit of an oddball and is always forgetting her glasses. Her anxious next seat neighbor Komura is pulled into helping her, which he doesn't mind at all since she's super cute.

The animation style does THE MOST, which I think turns some people off the show. If you're okay with it though, this is a really nice, happy watch.

After observing him for months, cutesy Kurihara builds up the courage to confess to the cute and shy Momotsuki, who is surprised because they've never spoken before but nevertheless accepts. The two begin a unique relationship where he knows nothing about her and she knows almost everything about him.

The girl is low-key a stalker, but in a cute way? Really nice, cutesy-poopsy show.

Light, fast-paced snippets of many couples. If you just wanna overdose on meet-cute without the whole build up and filler of typical rom-coms, this is the show for you.

Tsumiki is in love with her best friend Io. She's too shy to confess, and he's too oblivious to pick up on it. Thus they spend cozy days together with their friends.

Chill and sweet. Great pick if you're looking for something cozy and lower energy but still happy and cute

Nishimura is labeled the "Grim Reaper" and ostracized by all her classmates for her gloomy appearance. When the infinitely optimistic and naive Takada transfers into the class and hears that being around Nishimura will get you cursed, he thinks that's incredibly awesome and immediately starts spending as much time with Nishimura as possible to learn about her powers.

Super wholesome, consistently feel-good. Takada's ability to unintentionally spin every insult thrown at Nishimura into a positive is amazing, and Nishimura's reactions to Takada's very straightforward compliments are really cute.

Hashiba is the purest of his squad of four colorful guy friends, and takes an interest in his simple and kind classmate Koboyakawa who he keeps crossing paths with. We follow Hashiba's relationship with her, his pals, and their own romantic pursuits.

Funny and mostly nice show with mutual pursuit. The main romance is high tier, but the show is diminished a bit by problematic behavior especially in some early episodes and being left wanting more at the end. Multiple couples. Bromance.

Misaki is a strict and hard-working student council president with a reputation to upkeep. A major wrench is thrown in the works when the irritating popular guy Usui discovers that she has a part-time job at a maid cafe. He says he'll keep her secret, but he also starts visiting her cafe to mess with her.

Great rom-com. The guy is a bit dominating for my taste, but this is an extra-great pick if you're into that.

Romio Inuzuka and Juliet Persia have grown up together as rivals across dueling factions in their academy so antagonistic that collaboration between the two is paramount to treason. That doesn't stop them from falling hopelessly in love and starting to date each other in secret.

Super funny show, had me guffawing. Their relationship faces restrictions, but there are nice moments and there's a consistently light-hearted and humorous mood, except one bad moment in ep1 with brief assault but it gets resolved swiftly. Ecchi. Harem element, but the guy is single-minded on the main gal.

Red Gelato, admired leader of the hero squad Gelato 5, is matched in strength only by the infamous Reaper Princess of the Gekko villain society. While they appear to be mortal enemies, they're actually in a relationship and start sneaking away from battles to go on dates, which they both have zero experience with.

Hilarious and really cute romance between two OP lovable dummies. Impeccable parody of classic action shows like Power Rangers. Despite being in opposing factions, the obstacles the two face are comedic and push them together more than impeding them, and they find lots of time together. Ecchi.

Gyaru bully Nagatoro takes a special interest in teasing one particular nerdy senpai of hers.

I didn't expect to like this but I very much did, especially starting ep2 when the nature of her bullying starts to change. Ecchi.

Ultra tomboy Tomo is super tight with her childhood buddy Jun, but she's starting to see him as more than a friend. How can she get him to see her as a woman though?

Fun, happy rom-com. Satisfying progression.

Everyone avoids Sawako, mistaking her awkwardness for creepiness and believing she's cursed. Popular good guy Kazehaya talks to her just like anyone else though, and discovers her true, incredibly pure-hearted nature.

The beginning is absolute perfection with the most lovable and wholesome main character in any show. Cute, shy romance, some of the best female friendship I've seen in anime, and pure moments that have me bathing in happy tears.

This show does have a lot of light drama with misunderstandings and petty side characters. It becomes more pronounced from the second half of S1 onward, although there are no gut punchers. It's absolutely worth watching just the first couple episodes even if you don't finish.

Chill, cute, short snapshots of couples' daily lives

Cute, cheery, mute girl Nanako forms a bond with scary and rough-speaking but actually good-hearted Eiji over their shared enjoyment of senryuu - poetry similar to haiku.

Light, short, and fluffy. Continual cute moments between the main pair as side characters help maneuver them together even though they don't really even need it.

Otaku coworkers fall in love with each other.

Nice chill adult romance. More so than any other entry on the list has a mature tone feeling like it's specifically targeting adult viewers.

Aharen struggles socially because she speaks extremely quietly and doesn't know how to gauge personal space. Luckily, she meets Raidou who is very understanding and despite his tendency to leap to absurd conclusions, the two form a wholesome friendship and perhaps more.

Fantastic ep1. Overall a cute, amusing show.

Natsuki confesses to her lifelong friend Yuu, but while doing so chickens out and pretends that it was just practice. She and several of her classmates all continue to crush hard on someone, and have to work up the courage to make their move.

As the radiant and sweet Lady Saint Cecilia serves the people of a small town in the countryside she stays under the care of Lawrence, the sincere and hardworking pastor of the town church. Living under the same roof, Lawrence sees a side of her nobody else does: that she's a lazy little potato. One thing he doesn't see though is that she is extremely infatuated with him.

Historic setting with a slight fantasy element, and there's a bit of world building. Very slow paced, as Lawrence is exceptionally oblivious. Cute slice of life.

Best friends Tamako and Mochizou grew up together in neighboring mochi shops. Tamako intends to keep life as it is and continue working at her family's shop. Mochizou knows this, and must decide how to tell her that he'll be moving away to study filmmaking in Tokyo, and also that he's in love with her.

Very cute, simple love story with pretty animation.

You may want to watch the related slice of life anime Tamako Market prior for additional connection to the characters, but I hadn't and still really liked it.

Yuuta is determined to be normal and bury his past as a "chuunibyou", having publicly adopted the fantasy persona of magic-wielding Dark Flame Master back in middle school. That plan goes awry when he meets Rikka, another chuunibyou who knows about his past life.

Average comedy sprinkled with absolutely heart-melting romance. Lil bit of drama but not too bad, and worth it for the several top-tier sweet moments the show offers.

Tagaki always gets the better of her classmate Nishikata. Nishikata determines that just once he'll pull off a successful prank on Tagaki, but she's always one step ahead.

Younger, lighter, cute romance.

Jokester best friends Ootani and Koizumi support each other in their struggles with relationships, and find there may be more between them than they previously realized.

Solid rom-com.

Kendo expert Ayumu falls in love at first sight with Urushi and for this reason alone decides to join her struggling shogi club instead of pursuing kendo. His competitive pride remains though, and he resolves to only confess to Urushi once he's beaten her at shogi. The only problem is that she's an expert, and he's absolutely terrible.

Solid rom-com. Despite the main guy being very straightforward the development is fairly slow, but it's got cute moments. Multiple couples.

College student Akane, reeling from a breakup, jumps into the MMO she had played a little with her ex-boyfriend. Through her guild she meets the seemingly emotionless pro gamer Yamada, who through a series of events she ropes into unenthusiastically being her shoulder to cry on. They couldn't be more different, but nevertheless grow more and more interested in each other as their paths keep crossing.

Chill, aesthetic.

Mitsumi is a sweet, small town gal who moves to the big city to pursue her big ambitions. She very swiftly finds herself in over her head, but luckily she runs into Sousuke, her popular and cheery classmate and former child actor, who helps her navigate this unfamiliar environment. Being so different from the people he's always been around, he is immediately drawn to her, and it turns out she can help him navigate his own troubles as well.

Nice show with interestingly nuanced and really likeable characters. Refreshingly thoughtful and progressive representation of different types of people by anime's standards. Not a ton of romantic progression, but still cute.

Igarashi is a new office worker trying to hold her own, but often ends up receiving help from her senior coworker Takeda, who also tends to tease her a little. She's frustrated by him but nevertheless finds herself drawn to him. She'll have to contend with being seen like a little sister though.

Features adults, although the main gal is very young-looking which kind of takes away from that. Fun, a little ecchi, multiple couples

Shinozaki is mentored at work by his kind, cute, shortstack senpai Katase. He can't help but fall for her, but will they ever be more than coworkers? Everyone in the office certainly hopes so.

Light and ecchi.

Moriko is a 30-year-old who's quit her job and spends her days in an online MMO and becomes close with another player. Only leaving her apartment when necessary to get food, she happens to bump into Yuuta, a player of the same game.

Chill romance featuring adults.

Amane is a disillusioned loner guy living alone and one day he helps out his beautiful disillusioned loner neighbor and classmate Mahiru during a difficult moment. Events lead her to come over daily to cook for him out of concern for his health. Through this interaction, the two gradually grow closer and their hearts grow warmer.

This has more of a serious tone than other shows on this list, The show starts dark-ish but gets gradually lighter and warmer as it goes on. Lots of words of affirmation.

Uzaki starts college and reunites with her former senpai Sakurai, who was once a social athlete but has since become a lazy loner. To prevent him from this fate, she pushes him to get a part-time job and spend time with people, those people primarily being herself.

Ecchi, slow progression, funny side characters. Features college students

Hiyori is very tiny and very timid and wants nothing more than to fly under the radar into her new class. Of course she immediately captures the interest of her class's most boisterous and chummy guy.

Very brief little dose of fluff.

A pair of scientists conduct logical analysis and scientific experiments to attempt to prove if what the mystifying sensations they feel when with each other can be classified as "love".

Nice romance-themed comedy.

Light comedy surrounding a happily married oddly matched couple - an alcohol-loving ordinary lady and a hardcore otaku.

A woman attempts to seduce her mustachioed coworker with his favorite brand of marshmallows.

A niche show in my top 10 favorite anime. Not a ton of romantic development, but it's never failed to keep a smile on my face through multiple rewatches. Very funny, pretty ecchi, probably not everyone's cup of tea.

Usa moves into a boarding house filled with eccentric residents. Only one of the other residents is somewhat normal: Ritsu, a bookworm that goes to his school. He's dismayed to find she's not particularly interested in him, but perpetual encounters from sharing the same space and him trying to read some of her favorite books starts to warm her attitude toward him.

Mostly average comedy with not super likable side characters imo, but it has a couple of nice romance moments between the main pair as it goes on, although the main girl is standoffish through a most of the show.
