List of anime that are either partially found/lost, or lost completely. Will not include found anime. Including some that aren’t heavily talked about like jjba phantom blood or Doraemon 73

At the moment, the info I have isn’t completed, but I’ll still keep this public in case you get interested in searching for these. Will keep updating soon. And if I made any mistakes on here, please let me know so I can fix it. Now then, have fun learning about old lost anime!

Kick Off 2002

Kick Off (2002)

Kick Off 2002
TV, 2002, 26 eps Me:- Author:-
A Japanese Korean sports anime. Only the first episode is available
Chibikko Kaijuu Yadamon
TV, 1967, 26 eps Me:- Author:-
Not to be confused with the 1992 anime Yadamon, which isn’t lost media at all. I can’t really tell if full episodes have been found or not, all that comes up when I look for it is the 1992 series and some merch
Sobakasu Pucchi
TV, 1969, 162 eps Me:- Author:-
Completely lost. The opening is online but only in audio form
Pinch to Punch
TV, 1969, 156 eps Me:- Author:-
Completely lost, only one frame still survives. I own a coloring notebook for the show so it may have been popular at the time?
Golden★Kids
ONA, 2011, 2 eps Me:- Author:-
Was only available on an IOS app that has been taken down, only the first episode remains
Mon Cheri CoCo
TV, 1972, 13 eps Me:- Author:-
Partially found, tapes of the show still exist with private collectors who recorded the episodes and several clips are available online. My personal holy grail of lost media
Itazura Tenshi Chippo-chan
TV, 1970, 240 eps Me:- Author:-
Only two stills remain, no info on this show in English
Yanbou Ninbou Tonbou
TV, 1995, 39 eps Me:- Author:-
Based off a 50s radio drama. Only the opening is available. I own some cels of the show. Also the whole show seems to have been released on vhs, meaning it will likely resurface someday
Kaitou Pride
TV, 1965, 105 eps Me:- Author:-
Completely lost, has an American remake with only a few episodes foubd
Kirin Ashita no Calendar
TV, 1980, 1306 eps Me:- Author:-
Many versions of this, all being lost media. Only the opening survives
Pink Lady Monogatari: Eikou no Tenshi-tachi
TV, 1978, 33 eps Me:- Author:-
Only opening and ending available. Never released on home media due to copyright issues
Anne no Nikki: Anne Frank Monogatari
TV Special, 1979, 1 ep Me:- Author:-
Yes there is an Anne frank anime, two actually. Completely lost, only aired once and a few stills are available. The other isn’t lost though. While I feel like they might’ve screwed up considering it aired once and is now gone, it is a piece of lost history as it had footage of concentration camps and an interview with Anne Franks father.
Eagle Sam
TV, 1983, 51 eps Me:- Author:-
Based off of an olympics mascot. Only three episodes have surfaced

MURICA
Anime Document: München e no Michi
TV, 1972, 16 eps Me:- Author:-
Only the opening has surfaced
Jim Button
TV, 1974, 26 eps Me:- Author:-
Based off of a novel. Only one episode has ever surfaced, but is now deleted. It seems they whitewashed Jim as he was black in the og novel so that sucks. Also the opening theme goes hard as hell
Zen-chan Two-chan
TV, 1969, 78 eps Me:- Author:-
Completely lost. Apparently a traffic safety short survives as two people had allegedly watch it years ago
Muumin
TV, 1969, 65 eps Me:- Author:-
Not to be confused with the 70s or more popular 90s version, this was a failed attempt at Moomin based off the Finnish comics of the same name. Had a lot of production issues and is wildly different from the comics, having more guns, death, drinking, that kinda stuff. The shows first 26 episodes were hated by Tove Jansson, the original author, while the rest was liked by her. Funny enough, the first 26 episodes she hated all survive and the episodes she liked are mostly lost, with a few scattered ones found. Also Hayao Miyazaki worked on it because of course he did.
Hoshi no Ko Poron
TV, 1974, 260 eps Me:- Author:-
A low budget anime that only has some scattered episodes found
Gan to Gon
TV, 1974, 260 eps Me:- Author:-
Same as Hoshi no ko poron
Ijiwaru Baasan
TV, 1970, 39 eps Me:- Author:-
The earlier adaptation of Ijiwaru baasan, only clips have surfaced (both series are lost though)
Sazae-san
TV, 1969, ? eps Me:- Author:-
The longest anime of all time. Based off of a manga by Machiko Hasegawa. Something to note is that when a sazae san episode airs, it never airs again, and the creator has stated that no merch such as home media will be made to any of her works. Some earlier episodes are on Japanese prime video iirc and random episodes are on YouTube, but they get taken down quickly
Donkikko
TV, 1967, 21 eps Me:- Author:-
One episode of this anime apparently was on vhs tape, but the owner refuses to upload it. Other than that, not much is online
Uchuujin Pipi
TV, 1965, 52 eps Me:- Author:-
An anime mixed with animated and live action segments. Only two episodes were uploaded but have since been taken down, leaving only the opening online

TV, 1964, 38 eps Me:- Author:-
Only one episode is online
Chikara to Onna no Yo no Naka
Movie, 1933, 1 ep Me:- Author:-
Completely lost. Stills exist that are in somewhat good quality for an almost 100 year missing short, meaning maybe a copy still exists?
Magical Suite Prism Nana
OVA, 2015, 7 eps Me:- Author:-
The second episode is online, the first episode has nothing, and the rest of the series is lost. Heck, it’s unknown if the other episodes entered production

Big X
TV, 1964, 59 eps Me:- Author:-

TV, 1996, 140 eps Me:- Author:-
The first 26 episodes were online at some point but have since been taken down
Bouken Shounen Shadar
TV, 1967, 156 eps Me:- Author:-
To be honest idk what survives for this show. There seems to be a few scattered episodes. Highly recommend watch Kenny lauderdales video on old anime where he talks about this show more

Anime TV de Hakken! Tamagotchi

Yousei Dick
TV, 1992, 26 eps Me:- Author:-

Shisukon Ouji
TV, 1963, 14 eps Me:- Author:-
Stop motion series that is completely lost
Kujira no Josephina
TV, 1979, 23 eps Me:- Author:-
Some episodes of the Japanese version are available, but not all. Apparently the film reels for each one survived, but some are in such terrible condition they can’t be restored. Episodes of dubs exist along with the original ones on Amazon Japan (though not all episodes survive). Unless home recordings are out there, this is likely all we’ll get for the show
