Great mystery thriller at the start. Has that eerie early 2000s atmoshpere. Second half is different and weaker, but still worth watching through.

Least talked about anime with ABe's involvement. Much more light hearted than the stuff he's known for. Mostly comfy vibes, but it has it's serious moments and undertones.

So fucking cool and stylish. Background art, character designs and the animation are absolutely stunning. Has some questionable plotpoints but they really might even fit in a show like this.

Mecha fans have probably already seen this. This anime has probably the most realistic mecha designs. The battles are also very well directed and have that realistic feel in them. The arcs separate the show in to segments that are varied in style (in a good way imo). The last one is the craziest.

Trippy and gorgerous visuals. Contestor for the best looking Lupin III anime out there.

Beatiful and abstract narrative. Slowburner for sure but a great one at that. Oshii's more underrated work, I can kind of see that tho since this one's especially slow and minimalistic at times. CGI is a bit outdated at the flight scenes, but good directing still makes them engaging.

Political drama based on Sengoku period of Japan. Has some fight scenes but they aren't the focus here. It rather shows us tea ceremonies and pottery. Elegant and comfy most of the time.

Very different from the other patlabor movies in terms of plot, still quite engaging althought not that philosophical. The cinematography is also great like in the predecessors.

This might be the most popular show on this stack. It's good if you haven't seen it. Great visuals and mood with 2000s madhouse production.
