The themes it explores are actually much deeper than what appears on the surface, particularly if you read the manga's ending, which unfortunately was not adopted (see vols. 5-6)

Don't let the awful 3d animation put you off, this is a very good romance with interesting chemistry between the two protagonists (and you thought Komi couldn't communicate - wait till you see this).
