Guy: Double Target is labeled as a hentai title, but in reality it is a badass sci-fi action series. Guy and Reina are treasure hunter/thieves on the lookout for a big score. The two part series covers two separate adventure stores where we get to see Guy kick ass and take a few names.

In episode one, Guy and Reina head to a galactic prison to search for the formula for an eternal youth formula created by the infamous Dr. Vail. What they find instead is a planet that fights back and some nasty monsters to play with.

The second episode sees our heroes setting their eyes on a golden statue that is controlled by a powerful religious sect. When they infiltrate the holy sanctum they find out that there are strange powers at work and must fight with the heads of the religious order for their lives.

This title reminds me a lot of Daiakuji. Both have strong male leads that always seem to be in control of their situations and don't take crap from anyone. From bending steel bars to crushing his enemies arms to a bloody pulp bare-handed, Guy shows he is a man of action and not someone to mess with. When he gains a strange new power he becomes an even bigger badass as well.

As for the hentai content, there is not much of it, and that content is pretty tame (but well done). This is all about the story and the H content is just thrown in to spice things up a little… in fact the story is good enough that they could have left that content out completely and it would not be missed. If anything, be warned that this series can get bloody, gory and violent, and may not be for the fainter hearted folks.

This series is from the late eighties and early nineties, and the artwork reflects that time period well. This is a quality cell animation series, and the production company did a great job of not cutting corners. The series is available in its original Japanese as well as having dub versions available. I personally liked the English dub.

So to sum up, if you are looking for a hentai title, go elsewhere since you won't find much satisfaction here. If you are looking for a hard-core action anime that really delivers, then you do not want to miss this one. I give this one a hefty recommendation!
