I would put this anime almost above elfen lied on the "intense" scale. Parts of it were simply deranged, and I found myself receiving an almost sick pleasure and rush from this anime that was unlike anything I have experience. That is why I truly liked it so much.
Like I said early, I would almost compare this to elfen lied in that it can be very hard to watch and definitely inst intended for all viewers. As did elfen lied, I'm sure this anime brought about an amount of controversy, which is probably why people did not rate it high, and possible because it was really tragic
Regardless of all that, It does something that alot of animes do not. It views a real aspect of life, and portrays it in a realistic manner (though somewhat more intense) Anime commonly sucks you out of the real world into a world that could never possible exist. And the truth is, that's why alot of people watch anime, because its all to good to every truly happen (at least for alot of animes). I felt like this anime slapped me back into the real world, with themes such as consequences of actions. In all, alot of the scenarios were not truly realistic, but the main points of the themes were.
In conclusion, Id say you'd have to endure through maybe the first five or so episode before deciding to drop this. Unless you can endure through an anime that can be painful, or even derive a sick pleasure form others suffering and mistakes, this probably isn't for you. It is rated R. Along with that, I believe this anime to be no sort of happy, "couldn't really exist" kinda anime. It was depressing
You have to be a truly deranged person such as myself to enjoy this anime as much as I did. This is the most depressing anime I have seen, and I have been looking for an anime like this for almost a year.
