5 centimeter per second was a tragic but beautiful, sad yet happy emotional roller coaster. It's was one of those movies that leave a mark on your heart, and change the way you look at things forever. A heads up for people thinking about watching it, if you can't deal with the exactly happy ending you might think its leading upto I suggest you prepare yourself.

STORY:
The story was realistic and moving. If told at tale of childhood friends Takaki and Akari who were separated when Akari's family moved away because of family work.
After separating they keep in touch through sending letters (as mobilephones where not all that common yet) but because of the extended time separated they grow apart, although never really forgetting about each other.
When circumstances change and they are able to meet up, love sparks a new beginning even if it only lasts a night. But once again when separated it becomes hard to keep connected and many years pass. It's a tragic story of how we wish things should be but aren't.

ART:
The art was impressive but not the best I've seen. It has it's own characteristics in drawing people but when drawing landscape I have seen no better artist.

SOUND:
The music played in this anime is second to none. It matches perfectly with the mood of this anime and has an emotional effect just by listening to it. The music is something that put it above all other animes for me.

CHARACTER:
The characters are also very good. They make it easy to understand the characters intentions and portray in excellently. If I did had to make a negative point, it would be that it might get on your nerves how realistic they made them. The good guys don't always win in a way.

ENJOYMENT:
Although sad this was a very very enjoyable movie. It had its ups and downs but I wouldn't want to see this anime portrayed in any other way. It would just wreck the whole vibe.

OVERALL:
It was a fantastic movie and I would recommend it to everyone and anyone. But be warned it might not end to your liking, but it is defiantly something that everyone should watch to grasp a new understanding and outlook on how life is, short, uncertain and beautiful.
