Honey Lemon Soda isn't anything we haven't seen before. It has the most cliché plot and characters. Kai is your standard character ai boy. He's cool, mysterious and only cares for one girl. It's a bit corny at times, just some of the things he does just make people laugh at you. Uka is very insecure and shy. She's also a character some people would find annoying because she dwells on things and even though she has a good enough reason to, it's not for everyone. As you probably gathered, this kind of troupe or idea isn't anything new. It's just a typical high school romance and you shouldn't expect it to break the boundaries of media. It is quite predictable because it follows the same formula as a lot of romance stories that came before it. That doesn't make it automatically bad in my opinion, just some people are sick of eating the same comfort food over and over again so it's not going to be for everyone.
The music is great same with the art. What gripped me to watch this anime in the first place was the cover art and it lived up to my standards honestly. From what I know of the manga, they did a good job of replicating the manga's art style and making it more appropriate for an anime. The animation is pretty good too, again it's not going to blow you away but you can appreciate it and the clear work that's been put into it. I love the opening and ending song, same with the way the team went around creating the animation for the opening and ending. It's fun, I have nothing to complain about there.
So do I recommend Honey Lemon Soda? Depends, if you want to watch something new? You're probably going to want to pass this. If you love your romance and don't care if it's the same thing? Go for it. It's not bad, just is something we've all seen before.
