I must admit, when I first saw this movie, had not even played any Final Fantasy games.. only Kingdom Heart II. Shame on me, I know. The reason I wanted so badly to see the movie was probably because I really liked Cloud as a character when he appeared in KHII. And so I found some video's at youtube and found myself lost. I bought the movie because it was quite cheap, and then I did some Final Fantasy research while I waited for it to arrive in my mailbox. So I learned a big deal about the characters, which I think was a good idea.

- The story is rather unfinished in this movie. But I liked the idea, the setting and stuff, so it is good. I give it a 7.
- The art, in the shape of animation here is simply outstanding! I love how they put so much work into it. I rate it 10.
- The sound effects and music is awesome and cool! I love the Final Fantasy music very much. I dare say it is unique. I rate it 10 as well.
- I didn't know the characters to well when I saw this movie. And some of them seemed like they had been placed there because it was necessary. You didn't really understand where they came from. That's why I rate it 8.
- I remember enjoying the film a lot. And it was one of my favorites! Even with the loose threads. I rate it 9.

Overall it is a very good movie. I give it an 8. I think that now as the Complete edition of Final Fantasy Advent Children is out there is no reason to watch this. But I remember enjoying the Complete one even more because I saw the old version first.
