This anime had so much potential that was wasted this season. I hope season 3 does a better job in the future.
Tsukimichi finally came back after some time. This show was at the top of being one of the most underrated anime at least for me, specifically. Then season 2 showed some flashes of what could've been, but wasted too much time getting into the side characters rather than focusing on the main ones. I also disliked how the anime diverged from action-packed scenes and instead set up more of a story that didn't seem as purposeful outside of a new dragon.
Compared to season 1, the second season of Tsukimichi didn't express enough emotion. The humor shown throughout season 1 wasn't the same anymore in season 2. The pacing is so SLOW in this season that it makes the whole show seem lifeless. They gave 2 out of the first 3 episodes to some random heroes that no one cared about. Scenes in the show that showed character development, a further explanation of what is happening, and just comedic scenes were cut out which made the anime feel so delayed. Every time it felt like Kuzunoha was going to fight he didn't (Episode 17). I just wished this anime was more fast-paced and showed more action.
The battles in this show were downwashed from the first season. Most of the fights are from side characters and they don't do a well enough job choreographically. I don't understand much between the Makoto against Sofia fight since Makoto just runs circles around her. It was nowhere near their first fight which seemed astonishing at the time. Sofia getting nerfed probably made it seem that way. I just want the fights to make more sense and the power leveling to be better in the future.
Even though there are many things to hate, the show does still do some good things. I enjoyed Makoto's situation where he has a choice to go back or not similar to The Rising of a Shield Hero. It was nice to see Tomoe and Mio again as they provide comedic relief even if it wasn't the same before. The last five episodes were great since they finally focused on fighting for once. The pacing was much better in the second half of the season. The drawing quality was still as good as season 1. It was still an enjoyable watch at the end of the day.
