After 7 long years, KonoSuba is still as enjoyable as it was before.
While the third season of KonoSuba had great action there were some shortcomings. I found it a bit disinteresting that the third season focused more on character development than plot development. It felt like this whole season was more of a filler than actually contributing toward the end goal of defeating the Demon King. While I did find the character development episodes to be enjoyable, I also would like to see more action this season. Even with minimal action, the comedy was way better than the last two seasons in my opinion.
The animation although flunky at times does a well enough job as it provides chaos and variety unmatched. I'm not tryna glaze too much, but the attention to detail in some of the action-based moments like whenever Megumin does her explosion spell was eye-catching. However, it isn't anything compared to shows like Demon Slayer or Solo Leveling which is why it was good but not great. The sound for this show was amazing though. The many side effects throughout the show enhanced the comedy on the screen. Opening and endings were fine and just the typical things you see in any isekai, nothing astounding.
I enjoyed Darkness's arc throughout the second half of the season. It was a nice balance between actual drama and comedy which I found exciting. It was great to see how Darkness viewed her party and established better chemistry towards the main characters in Kazuma's party. It was somewhat refreshing in a sense and I loved this part of the show
Overall, the season was very good as the comedy didn't hinder the story progression providing a good balance between humor and drama which was entertaining to see.
