I had high hopes for Re:Monster based on the intriguing premise and promising concept, but unfortunately, it turned out to be a colossal disappointment. It starts off with a interesting story of being reincarnated as a goblin then quickly devolves into a bad power fantasy harem (DESPITE NOT BEING TAGGED AS HAREM!!!) by episode 3. But perhaps its most egregious flaw is its blatant disregard for world-building and internal consistency. The fantasy world in which the story is set feels like a half-baked afterthought. With poorly explained MC origin story that only brings up his death in the first episode but never gets into why and who killed him. The side characters were given good introductions only to be pushed into the background and replaced with MC's lust and cheap fanservice.
In conclusion, Re:Monster is a prime example of wasted potential. Save yourself the disappointment and steer clear of this forgettable anime.
