The first season was filled with beautiful art, a sense of mystery and exploration, and a whole lot of charm. This season that is all replaced by episode after episode of nothing but explanations of game mechanics that make no sense, clumsy action scenes which consists mostly of the show's protagonists running away from ever single fight, and samey looking backgrounds. There is no sense of actual progression, no sense that any of the things that are happening in the game world mean anything. I've seen a lot of people gush about how the animation is better than the first season, that may be the case but that doesn't mean anything if the content isn't good. I don't know why people rate this season so highly, but I do know that I didn't enjoy this and felt that it lost everything the first season had going for it.
