Chocalate cornets. That is all it took to get hooked into this hilarious anime.
The biggest factor in the enjoyment to this anime is the characters. The characters are very well thought out, especially in the case of Izumi Konata. The character of Konata is so well written that it seems like she was created in a lab with a formula to please every anime watcher. The Hiiragi Kagami character adds as not only a compliment to Konata, but as a great centerpiece for adding social commentary and as many characters feed off of Kagami as they do Konata. Although the show names 4 characters as the main characters, Lucky Star does raise Konata and Kagami to a higher level than it does Hiiragi Tsukasa or Takara Miyuki. Thats not to say that they aren't enjoyable when they are on screen. Tsukasa works as a perfect compliment to both Konata and Kagami, which is surprising considering the the polar opposite feel of thier personalities. Miyuki works well in giving "moe" to Lucky Star. Lucky Star is not about moe so she ends up being the butt of many jokes. Miyuki, however does manage to fit very well whenever she is on screen. The show also offers an abundance of supporting that give Miyuki and Tsukasa a run for heir money. Every one of them adds something different. The formuila does not change for the show with so many characters insteads builds on it and makes it seem very natural.
The story is not bad because well, there isn't one. The lack of a a progressing plot does not hurt the show because it's not focused on a plot, its focus is on its characters.
The art of Lucky Star is very basic. Nothing will really wow the viewers. The simplicity of the art is fit because the show is not complex in terms of development, in both a story or character. scenes where the art changes are typically for parody. This results from many references to other animes (Suzumiya Haruhi, Full Metal Panic, Street Fighter, Initial D, and many more).
The soundtrack for Lucky Star may only be as enjoyable as the show. The opening theme "Motteke Sailor Uniform" is a very fast paced, and upbeat song that actually does work well in transitioning into the show."Motteke Sailor Uniform" however, does not work well as the shows introduction, but if you like the show the song will grow on you.
In the end there not much changes from the beginning but as long as you became attatched these characters than its been an extremely enjoyable time.
