A lot of people have complaints about this series . . . that have nothing to do with the series itself, it has to do with hype. This series was hyped up to where people's expectation flew all over the place and if every single one of those were not met to a T than that meant this series was a failure.
No, it's not perfect, nothing is, but it is no where near a failure.

Story - 10
The story gripped me in right away, while the first episode was a bit slow it intrigued me to watch more and as each episode aired the intrigue and interest grew. The anime follows Clain, who doesn't really understand what is happening around him, but it's not his job or even the purpose of the anime to decide who was right and who was wrong. It's about his relationship with the characters Nessa and Phryne and how he responds to them. The situations, often horrifying and real despite the scifi/fantasy setting force Clain to find his place in this world that he doesn't fit in to.

Art - 9
While not exactly consistent in exact style, the style fits the setting and the atmosphere of the story. The art is bright and colorful, but not in your face.

Sound - 9
The music and voice acting was very good.

Character - 10
The characters are what really make this series. Each character grows at a good pace as they come to understand what their world and their life means for them.

Enjoyment - 10
Each episode is fun, there is bouts of action, mystery, humor, slice of life, and balance it all very well. Each episode kept me guessing and when realizations hit it only drew me in more.

Overall - 10
This story has such color and such heart. I wish more people would get past their expectations and see Fractale as it really is, an honest, good heart series, full of thought, color, and heart.
