Saihate no Tomodachi is about a shy lonely girl named Asahi that is bullied in school due to her general quietness and her inability to stand up for herself. Due to a bullying incident she ends up going to an abandoned school where she meets and befriends two ghosts, another young girl named Kiyo and a female teacher. Every day after school, she goes to the abandoned building to be with the two of them.
The story is a little bitter while also being very sweet and if you're emotional like me, a bit of a tearjerker.
That said I can finally say that despite being a quick story, I enjoyed reading about Asahi's small steps to become a stronger person thanks to her friends.
It was incredibly sad and heart aching reading the teacher's and Kiyo's stories but makes you much more understanding of Kiyo's actions through the story.
I believe it ends in a satisfying note, it doesn't finish with an unresolved conflict or unanswered questions. It's a nice story that leaves you with good feelings.
