I really enjoy this show, this season was pretty good, but it didn't meet the same expectations as S1 and S2, which is why I rated it at an 8.
Season 1 was my favorite. It starts the journey showing Myne inhabit a new body and have to learn about the new world around her. As a book lover myself, when Myne discovers this new world does not have access to reading material like our new age world does I was very interested to see how she would bring her book love to life. Season 1 introduces you to her family, her friend Lutz, the amazing amazing Benno, Otto who teaches her writing and math skills, among others. This season is the best because it shows all the inventions Myne begins to create with her friends and also shows you that this world has magic. It does a great job of world building and getting you connected to the characters.
Season 2 was a great follow up. It delves deeper into Myne's magic which has to be controlled by magic items, which causes her to have to work in the church. You are introduced to several new characters, one of them being Ferdinand. Ferdinand grew on me slowly, he starts off very cold, so I did not know how I felt about his character. As the season goes on, I start to value his importance as a character as the show gets deeper into magic, nobles and the safety of Myne. This season does some foreshadowing that Myne will have to potentially be adopted by a noble.
Season 3 fell short for me. I still enjoyed watching it because I am interested in following Myne's journey, but the focus of this season was not that special to me. The season also focuses a lot on Myne's assistants, especially Delia, who I could careless for. It just didn't cause a connection to the characters that were being introduced like S1 and 2 did. The only character I was interested in this season was the introduction of Sylvester, other than that it felt bland. Some episodes I would follow more than others, but I honestly feel like not much effort was put into this season as the others. There also were random arcs that did not really develop that story further, so it felt like a filler season most of the time.
Nonetheless, I am excited for another season. I do recommend this show even though season 3 was not the best! It is worth watching!
