To start off, I'd like to say that this is my first review written here, so I'm sorry if it's not the best written thing in the world, but I'll try hard to dont cite any spoilers.

Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuutsu is a highly acclaimed anime in the community and was a fever in the 2000s (something I still don't understand why. I believe it may be because of the aesthetics, which was successful at the time). This popularity led me to the interest of this work, after all, what can be so interesting in another school anime, until then, generic?

One thing I must admit, Suzumiya Haruhi is definitely not a generic anime. It brings an interesting premise until then, after all, science fiction with school comedy seems to me a good idea. And it really is a good idea, if THE PLOT WAS COMPLETE. If you expect a plausible explanation for the issues present in the work, forget it, there will be NOTHING that actually explains what is happening. The science fiction issue in the work is the messiest thing I've ever seen, honestly I wouldn't be surprised if the anime was written by people who are exactly the same as the characters. The anime itself simply forgets the details it invented, some things appear in the work only once, and then are simply forgotten. Even the plots most presented by the work are murkily explained, thus creating many plot holes. And no, those holes aren't filled with season two.

The characters are all insanely annoying. They are all exaggeratedly stereotyped, the anime even forces and reinforces these stereotypes in an absurdly boring way. The protagonist is nothing but a pushover, he does nothing the entire work but obey Suzumiya and complain about it. All characters are like that, actually. The difference is that Asahina obeys crying and moaning in an extremely irritating way, Koizumi obeys smiling and Nagato just obeys in silence. And the work revolves around that. None of these characters have a genuinely interesting personality or plot behind them (aside from their supposed powers, which are then simply ignored and never really completed). Suzumiya Haruhi is just a bossy weirdo, who doesn't do anything for the entire anime other than having rambling ideas to "avoid the melancholy monotony" and pissing off. The only justification for her being annoying the entire anime is that she just freaks out if her head isn't full, but it would be a lot more interesting if the anime had something else besides that, because when it comes to characters, that's the only explanation given to her. the attitudes (quite exaggerated, by the way) of Suzumiya. Asakura was a delusion.

The art is very simple, nothing fancy. It's quite beautiful, I must admit, it's just a shame that there are so many scenes of nothing happening. The animation isn't the most perfect thing in the world, but it's acceptable, I don't have much to say about it.

The soundtrack is also a factor that does not matter much in this work. It's not bad, but it's not remarkable either. Nothing too epic, it's not the kind of soundtrack I would normally listen to in my day to day.

Overall, Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuutsu is a pretty average anime. It's worth it for the newly nostalgic 2000s vibe and it's pretty aesthetically pleasing, but the premise is irritating and boring. Nothing that really interesting happens is completed, I think there's just one arc that's fun to watch, but it's also no big deal. Suzumiya is a confusing anime, which ultimately takes us from nowhere to nowhere.
