Have you ever considered that after a stressful day, you can lie down, turn on the television, and watch an anime to unwind? Well, I have and I feel this anime was made with people like me in mind.
The story is about a family with a father who is a spy, a Mother who is an assassin, and a daughter who can read people's minds. So your guess might be, "Damn, it's going to be another one of those dark, physiological, suspense stories." You couldn't be more wrong. The story is very lighthearted and wholesome with a bit of action here and there!
There are moments that will touch your heart and moments that will make you laugh. Overall a balanced show. People say it is overhyped and, to be honest, It deserves all the attention. One of the main reasons this show is so popular is that it is family-friendly. I went into this show with absolute 0 expectations and came away with 12 gems of episodes! Whether you came from manga or started with anime, you will notice that every single character has depth, and a lot of love and effort went into writing the story.
The animation and sound quality were really good. Wit Studio and CloverWorks did an amazing job, kudos to them. Coming from the manga, I was concerned about how they would animate Anya's adorable reactions, but boy was I surprised! They totally nailed it! Not only Anya, but every single character was superbly portrayed!
It isn't a masterpiece, but it gets almost everything right. To be great, you don't need an anime with a Death Note or AOT level plot. Sometimes a straightforward approach could do the trick.
To sum it up, I would like to say, "All we miss in life is little Anya"!
