Mixed Feelings
Meh! Compared to the main series, this prequel was painfully mediocre. Even if you're an avid AOT fan, this might not be for you. Because there is no 'twists' or 'revealations' that'll blow your mind while watching this because of it being a prequel.

The only thing this one has going is the history of Surevey Corp and the their evolution. The orgins of ODM gear, the first survey corp expedition, life inside the wall, internal politics of the people living in the wall and the exploration of few more regions inside the wall that never ever been mentioned in the main series due to it's focus on the bigger picture.

Character designs were fine, That distinct line art style of Isayam is absent due to the fact him not being the writer/artist of this prequel. Character development is wack, the people who were supposed to br ferral suddenly get cured of his condition due to a beautiful waifu, Previously mind broken soilder got his mind fixed due to a beautiful waifu and her preaching, Oh and of course even the ODM gear was finalized after the blabbering of the said Waifu, For some reason the Waifu who sucked being a soilder became a commander, etc. Which are very different and too much optimistic compared to that of Isayama's. Because of the optimistic nature, there were no shocking deaths nor any mind screwing sceneries and what not. I guess you could call it a AOT for the weak minded, because the only people who die are the non major, non important, who even remember them type of characters.

In my humble opinion, skip this one. It ain't worth the read. The art is nice to look at but the high ceiling placed the main series is a curse for this prequel. And also, all the plot in this story ain't that important to the main series anyway.
