I made it pretty clear in my review of the main series that I only liked the show for it's Smash bros elements. Strip all that away and you're left with a very bland, by-the-numbers harem anime with a slice of white-bread protagonist and a crappy tsundere who won't admit to herself that she has feelings, and a bunch of other girls that are just set-dressing.
I hope that in season 2 the show can get back to something actually interesting with the game aspects, but I don't see it happening. I think any further entries in the franchise will probably get middling reviews from me, so 7's or 8 if they're lucky. These did nothing interesting that wasn't already covered in the main series either, so they seemed doubly irrelevant. No smash? Belongs in the trash.
