The melody and mixing with the vocals is definitely unique and stands out from the usual style of idol songs. I’m no musicologist, so for an actual analysis of what makes it different you’ll have to go to the forum section (I didn’t want to just straight out copypaste someone else’s paragraph into my review), but in layman’s terms, it’s a mix of multiple melodies, which I personally quite like when songs do, combined with a sort of off-beat synchronisation with the singing.
The visuals are also nicely done, even if they sometimes borderline between animation and art showcase. It changes from tasteful moe to more trippy visuals, especially around the middle of the video where we get some curious effects. For a short video, there’s also surprising variation of artstyles.
While you’re more likely to enjoy this if you’re already a Hololive fan, no knowledge about the vtuber scene is a requirement to be able to jam to this. I’d definitely recommend giving this few listens.
