Preliminary (58/109 chp)
Story: 4
I give this score solely because there is no actual story. You could argue that the developing relationships between characters is a sort of story, which I agree, but there's essentially nothing else. Each chapter is just a new event with an advice and a little relationship development. The closest to a plot we get is the uncovering of Kyou's past.

But I don't think that's necessarily bad.

Simply put, the manga's purpose isn't to present an complex overarching story. This becomes obvious when you consider that each chapter has less than 10 pages. It isn't, doesn't want to and shouldn't be complex.

I simply gave it a 4 because the is indeed little to no actual story, but that's just part of the style and some people (like me :) ) like it, while some people don't. If you want something to turn off your brain and get some serotonin, this might be the manga for you!

Art: 6
The art is quite pretty, nothing too mind-blowing or eye-catching. Simple yet well-done describes it quite precisely.

Characters: 8
The main appeal of this manga is the protagonist's personalities (especially Kyou's). Each one of them is pretty fun and interesting in their own merits. Of course, don't come reading this manga expecting much character development: most of what we really see is them opening up to Kyou rather than actual change.

Another strong point are the relationships between characters, which I think are pretty well-done, too.

A flaw one might point out it that Kyou's character is pretty unrealistic, but I think in this case this helps the anime become more than a generic slice of life manga. He is otherworldly kind, has a awkward personality and, of course, gives one point advice to anyone he meets. Obviously, it's not supposed to be a very realistic character, but I think this makes him all the more charming.

Enjoyment: 10
Setting the objective-ish tone aside, I really really enjoy this manga. It's right up my alley: a wholesome, simple story with good characters. It's the kind of story I can enjoy and not stress over it and sometimes that's good!

Overall: 7
While I love this manga, I'm aware it's not for everybody. The lack of plot is probably the biggest turn-off for most. Also, every chapter has a set structure (something happens, Kyou appears, people get scared, Kyou shows his kindness and gives one point advice, people now love him, repeat), which might bother some people. Personally, I like this, but it's not everyone's cup of tea :)
