How I was wrong when I heard a description about the anime. "Anime about writing letters". How is that supposed to be good? After the whole season and film, I can say.
Story - 10/10 - A few first episodes are about our main char Violet-Chan. We get to know more about her, her past, her feelings, how she is doing generally. But after a few episodes, the real things come. Each episode is about a new story that Violet is supposed to write a letter about and we can see and feel the pain and emotions behind it. It is not a common romance/drama anime. The feelings are coming step by step and naturally, you don't feel any pressure or emotional hard parts that "should make you cry instantly". And I'm sad the second film is not out yet. (It is, but bad quality. 4.8 2021 the original version comes out).
Art - 10/10 - If I have ever said some anime had the best art so far, I was wrong. After a discussion with my friends who loves anime as well and they saw far more anime than I, we have agreed that the art style is best at all. Effects, eyes, hair, details, faces... the animations generally. Everything is so beautiful you can hardly believe it.
Sound - 10/10 - Are you joking? The music during each episode is so good and there are so many soundtracks. (2h OST for 13 episodes lol). Whenever I hear the song (Called The voice in my heart), I feel such nostalgia. I'm sure some of them are gonna be my next piano learning songs. It's really beautiful and an amazing part of the anime as well. I listen to the BGM every time as I love piano and all the songs during each anime and this is great.
Character - 10/10 - Violet... what else can I say? Colourful, empathetic and destroyed girl from the war. She is finding herself and a way how to survive all the bad things. Supporting characters are amazing and lovely, especially Cattleya, Iris, Erica and Claudia. They are so friendly and helpful, although we don't know much about them. And Roland is an old cheerful man as well.
Enjoyment - 10/10 - I was moved by this anime a lot. I love Violet for her personality, I love the supporting characters for their kindness and the whole plot for such outstanding and astonishing idea about writing letters and each letter means story behind it. I was so sad when I have read about the incident at the animation studio... poor people. So many treasures they have made (e.g. Clannad). I would recommend this anime to many people who seeks any drama anime.
