I went into this anime completely unbiased never reading the manga or even hearing of nagatoro's existence. I want to say before I write this review I can 100% see why some dropped this anime after episode one or did not like this. Its an opinion I respect and can fully understand why , but I disagree personally. Episode one was absolute garbage no sugar coating it. The straight up bullying was painful to watch and just straight up annoying. Nagatoro and her friends come off as terrible people who you just want to punch. I contemplated dropping this anime after the trash that was called episode one but I had extra time and continued to the rest of the episodes out at the time, I did not regret it. Nagatoro to me personally had amazing character development by the newest episode out. Nagatoro shows more and more her love and soft spots to senpai episode by episode. Unfortunately I personally think nagatoro was the only character who improved, but mentioning that I never thought senpai had to improve. Her friends were the problem to me , but I'll admit they have become more likeable by episode 8. Her friends are straight up bullies which was just painful to watch. I've seen so many people hate nagatoro for her personality which I do understand but to me her friends were more obnoxious to watch. Yoshi and sakura were definitely the least worse out of the three as yoshi just stupidly agreed along and sakura was just straight up nice. Gamo on the other hand was a character I never got myself to enjoy which really tanked my rating for this anime as she is just straight up being disgustingly mean to the kid. I think without her the anime would be a favorite of mine. Nagatoro is what really made this anime enjoyable to me. As episodes go by the mean teasing becomes less and less and her love for senpai shows more and more. Her obvious liking towards senpai, protecting him , and being shy around him was adorable. I have no idea how this anime is planning to end since I have not started the manga yet , but if theres no ending of their feelings for one another being more clear it will definitely bring my liking down. My overall thoughts not the best anime and could 100% see why people dislike it , but to me personally I enjoyed it more and more each episode. I think I'd classify it as the trash animes you guiltily enjoy. Hoping to start the manga soon
