The original series suffered from pacing problems - due to being constrained by the source material, they tried too hard to stretch the material into the format, and result was quite disappointing.
Here... the writers took the characters and made a nice, relaxing, and, importantly FUNNY slice of life with them. Everybody's personalities are already known, so they just clash them together and the result is very enjoyable.
It is fun, characters are lively and interesting, despite having a "role" to stick to, and it is entertaining, despite using some cliches tricks. I only wish the original Tensura was at this quality....
I recommend to check it out.
6/10 for story, art, character, enjoyment, and overall, 5/10 for sound (it is okay, and I can't say anything about it).
