So i saw there were no reviews for Ghost teller which isn't surprising considering it's not very popular, so I'm gonna try and do it justice by writing one.
Ghost teller is said to be a horror series but I see it as more that that. It explores the desires of the human mind and how far we'll go to fulfill those desires in strange ways and overall how crazy and scary humans are. One of my favorite stories that explored this topic was "The story of Brothers" chapters 41 - 47. This story takes a strange approach at the horror genre in and intriguing way. It starts off with a brother who is a clown and really wants to pursue his dream and make people laugh(his jokes aren't that good tho). He also has to support his two younger brothers one of which who is sick. It's never classified what happened to the parents btw. But anyways the dude really wants to support his sibling no matter WHAT it cost. He then starts online streaming for fun to try and make people laugh and get some extra cash, let's just say that he does some unexpected things that might surprise you. I'll cut it off there tho since I don't wanna spoil my favorite story. Either way the story goes into the craze of him just wanting to protect his brothers and support them.
One of the stories that really captured that horror aspect though was the first story, "The story of the woman" which covers chapters 2 - 7.
Ok so "the story of the woman" covers a story about well, a woman who just wants to get a boyfriend and settle down, she finds one who's super handsome and has a baby with him. She thinks he's cheating on him and gets angry and very insecure about if he really likes her. He gets murdered :). The true horror of this story was just the image of his murder. It wasn't necessarily sweet home or parasyte type of gore it was just f*cked up, the way his body was wrapped, the blood seeping out of the machine, everything was horrible and it kinda shocked me when i first read it. And when they killed the child it really made me think.
The way they conveyed the psychological part was amazing in "The story of the woman", her being mentally ill and killing her husband and child were certainly plot twisters, but it makes sense. Her laughing in the jail cell(?) strapped down certainly captured her mentally deteriorating and just getting worse and more creepy and disgusting in way.
Overall the stories in ghost teller are certainly amazing and could be interpreted in many different ways. Some might say ghost teller is poorly executed and lacks in whatever but so far I am truly enjoying ghost teller and the stories it has told me.
Well that's my 1 cent on Ghost teller and sorry if my review wasn't as enjoyable as I would like it to be, I sometimes struggle with expressing my thoughts on certain topics but i hope i'll get better at writing reviews in the future
