Being a manga reader, I'll try to write this review without comparing from the manga that much, even if it meant sacrificing my favorite arcs and characters (but like why didn't we get any more background story from sonju?!).

Can't hate on the art and music, I mean it's pretty good just like in the first season.

As for story, I did read the manga but I'm kinda forgetful with every detail. Which is probably why I cant even compare both mediums properly lol. So when stuff like the whole Peter Ratri is the clan leader, we have a queen who we only probably saw through a slideshow and yada yada all the government rules as well as the gate to the human world, I was kind of confused. I mean I had a skeleton idea since I read the manga, but I was REALLY wishing to be refreshed with specific details, and by refreshed I mean like diving into the story like a non-manga reader. And all of that didn't happened because it was rushed. We had a slideshow at the end, but they didn't explained exactly more about the terms of the human world in the anime version. In the manga, the human world was drastically different, so they might as well show us how the human world in the anime works now. But none.

We also have a slideshow image of Mujika being crowned, but again no exact context for the sake of anime readers. We also have an image of Emma talking to "him/whatever his name is I don't know how it's pronounced in the manga", but again, no exact context. Basically, everything is so rushed it doesn't satisfy the lore of the worldbuilding and background stories of the characters.

Ah characters. Where do I begin. I really wanted more of Sonju. He already gave off this mysterious aura in the first few episodes, which I liked. But they just kind of put his background story aside which btw is SO DAMN INTERESTING IN THE MANGA, but again, I'm trying not to compare the two mediums. We also saw him wanting to still eat humans after first departing from Emma's group, so what happened to that?

Isabella. I mean I'm personally glad that we saw her a bit earlier comparing to Norman, but later on her power as Grandma didn't shine exactly. Like when did she compromised with her fellow Sisters to rebel against the farm's systems? There was no hint on that, or a background story for the betrayal. Oh, and how they redeemed the Sisters was meh.

Norman, the character who has been talked about most with the most controversies. Hey, at least they actually animated "Minerva" Norman by the ending. But having him come just like that didn't make me feel any emotion compared to when Phil met Emma again. The reunion between Emma, Ray and Norman was over in very few minutes, and then genocidal time. Oh, speaking of genocide time, (going back to the story section of this review), it was actually pretty strong, but it did not last long. Like, over in an episode, maybe even less if we count from which minute the genocide started to when they left the village. Oh, and no real consequences by the way since everyone got to drink the evil blood that quickly and no one sought after the drinkers afterward.

Honestly though, if I were to nitpick while comparing it with the manga directly, then I would not stop here.
