This is maybe my 5th time reposting this

This is my first review so bear with me, any criticism is helpful!

First of all I want to mention this is from a critical stand point. I will be judging the story, how the characters are written and also the concept and why I think ANIME like this shouldn't be created. Also I am not sensitive and this didn't disturb me before you use that as criticism for my low score. Now onto the review.

Story 1/10

Redo of a healer is a revenge story about a healer in a fantasy world who relives his life to get revenge on people who treated him badly in his first life. This show was made to create a more realistic revenge story - by making the enemy suffer. And that's literally the entire show. They threw all their narrative devices out the window to make an extremely average show predominantly consisting of rape and suffering. Now don't get me wrong if used correctly along side strong narrative and character development this can be fantastic for example; Berserk which features a lot of rape and suffering is considered one of the best pieces of literature ever created. But when the premise of the show is entirely to abuse the MC in the most horrific ways possible - to make you feel even the slightest bit of remorse - so that it justifies him doing the exact same thing back in the same episode, that's bad writing. Again, in Berserk rape and suffering is used as a way to set the scene and show you that nothing about the world that they live in is nice by any stretch of the imagination, its used as strong world building, ultimately contributing heavily to the story. In contrast in Redo of a Healer it's entire use is to make the abuse an ecchi moment and sexual. The short time between abuse and revenge just doesn't feel rewarding, there is near to no development in-between action and confrontation. Yes, the revenge is more realistic, but if there is no development does that REALLY matter at all. This anime is feeding into a rape fantasy disguising itself with a "revenge story" so that people can praise it for being "not scared to be explicit". Which I think is morally wrong, and just bad writing.

Characters 1/10

This show was made to create a more realistic revenge story - by making the enemy suffer - with this ideology in mind they discarded any attempt at making a single developed character. The hero of the story is a young man named Keyaru, his development is incredibly weak: innocence, a forced loss of innocence, revenge. At the beginning of the story he is shown in a village living with a mother figure, her purpose is to make us sympathise with Keyaru: showing us that there are people that care about him. This is a failed attempt to make us feel disconsolate when we see him getting abused. Furthermore the antagonists are unbelievably two dimensional, their sole purpose is to manipulate and physically abuse Keyaru. We don't get a solid reason why they do it , which means we can't relate. This is exactly what you don't want to do when writing a villain. Well written villains such as Yoshikage Kira, Light Yagami or The Joker have reasons why they are evil and ideologies of a perfect life and act upon it, giving us a reason to relate and understand why they are evil even if it's incomprehensible the way they try to achieve their perfect world.

Art 4/10

The art isn't awful but it's not good either, its just decent. It's a basic new gen art style that is in countless anime, spanning between the last decade. The animation isn't anything special. It's not especially visually pleasing there are relatively nice shots and the environments usually consist of forests or random infrastructure. Nothing really to add here it's not a reason to hate this anime but it isn't a reason to love it either.

Sound 6/10

This is the only thing I can praise this anime for. The voice actors did a good job on the voices: you could hear the suffering and the pain, the laughing sounded natural, the worry and breaking in their voices was realistic. The music was average. The opening was meh and the ending song was bad. Also not much to say here they did a pretty good job on the sound.

Enjoyment 2/10

Now is this the worst anime ever created? Definitely not, but is it a good anime? Definitely not. This anime is full to the brim with bad writing, bad characters, basic animation and tropes. It's a poor excuse of an attempt of glorifying a rape fantasy. I can't think of a single person I would recommend this to. There are hundreds of better revenge stories even if they aren't as realistic that I can recommend.

Overall I would rate this a 1/10

I think if it where a hentai I wouldn't have as much of a problem with it. The constant unneeded sexual themes and the entire rape fantasy is a kink and would make more sense in the hentai genre rather then an ecchi, where there are a lot of regular anime watches and younger audiences, who may stumble upon an anime like this especially due to the current hype it's getting. This may also be difficult as there might be previous rape victims (although I can't understand how that truly feels like) I think glorifying the rape kink and justifying it through abuse- is disrespectful for former victims of the real thing.
