This story takes place in the feudal era of Japan wich is a very interesting setting for the sci-fi genre of Gantz. This really works in favor of the story, it gives it a fresh feeling so it doesnt feel like a bad rip off from the original manga.
The artwork for the manga is very sharp and clean, some panels made me pause just to look at the amazing artwork. It has the same feel as the original work but the feudal aesthetic mixed with high tech really makes it stand out.
The characters are lacking in this story, the MC looks like a taller version of Kei Kurono but stronger and more confident in his skills and power. This will take away a lot of character development for the MC wich made Kei in gantz so well written. We can predict what kind of hardships he is going to have to go through so maybe there will be some ways to improve in that section. The side characters are actually really enjoyable and feel different.
If you liked Gantz i highly suggest you read this. It's a fun read and after 14 chapters i'm already invested in this story
