The art is what it is. The typical shaft monogatari art style, just like the previous animes in the series. I really like this art style, as it highlights what the characters are feeling at the moment, as well as it puts emphasis on the characters.
The story is very consistent, each arc consists of the main characters solving a supernatural problem that affects their loved ones. It's very similar to bakemonogatari in that sense. However, the arcs and how the events play out in this second season is much more dramatic and exciting than bake.
If you have watched the previous monogataris, then I can guarantee that you will love this season. It is so far one of the best I have watched.
