It may seem like your usual cheap duo romcom at first, and although it really is, it comes with a nice twist.
Naitou, the hero, is madly in love with Itou. He is the chad form of your textbook romcom MCs, instead of subtly expressing love or just too shy to do anything, he just proposes to Itou 24/7.
Itou, is not your usual tsundere, cinnamon roll or dense head heroine. She is the polar opposite of your textbook romcom MCs. She hates Naitou not because she's a tsundere, but because she truly hates him and his creepy behaviour.
The major enjoyment is derived from how ridiculous, youthful and naive Naitou's love for Itou is, and how cruel, cold and snarky Itou rejects him.

This extreme duo seems like they won't make any progress, but the author/mangaka knows the readers quite well, and actually allowed progress swiftly(his/her manga wasn't certain to get too many volumes anyways) despite Itou's resilient tsun character. Reading the manga, I could feel the author's passion and how he/she ships the duo just as much as the readers do.

Also, due to the semi-chibi character design, they have fingers. Thus, they pose for a peace sign frequently, which I think is cute. Hehe.

It's a surprise that this manga isn't that well known globally. Maybe there are too many romcom manga out there, maybe the semi-chibi design isn't likable. Regardless, I enjoyed Naze da Naitou a lot and wish this review convinced more to try it!
