After recently reading the horror that is “Mii in the Box”, I needed a break from doujin and I found that refuge in Resort Boin, a hentai about a boy on summer vacation. Resort Boin as an experience feels fitting with the show’s plot revolving around vacation, a time to get away from the terrifying reality of your life and enjoy yourself while being somewhat adventurous such as trying new things within your comfort space. If you’ve recently experienced some legitimately messed up hentai, Resort Boin is the tropical getaway you’re looking for you in your next fap to forget about your troubles and indulge in a great hentai.

Story : 7

The story is nothing special, it’s another hentai set in a resort where MC-kun runs into a variety of girls who are inexplicably swept up into a lust by MC-kun’s most prevailing quality, existing. However for all intensive purposes, this is a vacation hentai so there’s nothing much to think about. The plot is rather clean and almost refreshingly simple, whisking MC-kun from one sexual endeavour to another never getting bogged down by a single sex scene and constantly keeping it interesting with the colorful cast of characters.

Art and Animation : 9

For a hentai released in 2007, it is ridiculously well animated as long as you look past the 4:3 aspect ratio. Nothing feels lazy and arguably looking at some of the recent line-up of hentai, sure they’re higher resolution and frame by frame they are more consistent but I’ll be damned if anyone says that Resort Boin’s jiggle physics don’t match up to modern graphics standards as I believe they surpass the present standard. My only critique is the design our MC-kun has, not to knock on the classic hentai MC look however I personally found it rather jarring that the skin color of MC-kun was so starkly different from the rest of the characters. Besides that, there are no complaints as the girls sported some of the best character design I’ve seen in awhile and discounting the main two girls, the other girls had less ridiculous boob sizes and were waifu material which is rare to say about hentai.

Characters : 8

A strong cast is represented here, from the more assertive and adventurous girls to the more reserved and timid ones. Personally, the first two girls we are introduced to (Nao and Mitsugu) came off rather annoying rather reminiscent of Boin’s ugly past in the prequel which I critiqued quite harshly. However the rest of the cast were all unique in their own way as represented by their relationship with MC-kun. Kanae with her assertive and extremely adventurous nature, the classic romantic confession of a long time lover in Maya or the sexual awakening of our darling klutz Momo. All these relationships were memorable and personally Maya and Momo were the highlight of the show with their cute designs and mannerisms.

Therapeutic Experience : 8

Overall Resort Boin is a very vanilla hentai by a veteran standard however the tentacles and faux BDSM scenes, much like a vacation, introduced some more exciting elements especially for a pure vanilla watcher while the viewer still knows they’re in a safe space. It reassures a traumatized veteran of their inner safety while challenging the pure vanilla in the tiniest of ways as compared to more jarring hentai which opens up the pure vanilla to exploring more adventurous tags. It helped me soothe the ever present pain embodied in that little 8 year old trapped in the box while reminding me what hentai should really be about, jacking it to appropriately aged and consenting women.

Conclusion

Resort Boin is a far cry from the mediocre shitshow that was Boin, it’s predecessor, revamped in every single way from improved art direction and animation, a more compelling story and likeable, appropriately proportioned girls. It is an exceptional hentai in keeping things relatively tame for a hentai while showing us the slight naughtier side of the genre. Resort Boin feels like a home away from home, helping us forget about the darkness inside all of us providing a moment of temporary relief. This is a definite recommendation from me whether you’re a weeblet or a degenerate there is something for everybody
