This manga has a fairly simple plot about defeating the enemy and saving the town, along with saving some people's lives, but it is executed well and the characters are put in interesting situations. The real value of the manga comes in how the characters deal with the enemies, and how the main character deals with his sacrifice. The climax of the series was very good, the enemy had a seemingly omnipotent power, but through the characters' ingenuity, they were able to take advantage of the situation in a believable way. The ending could have been better if it went in a darker direction, so long as it was executed well. As is, the ending is not bad, it is a fairly typical ending though.
