Devilman: Crybaby is a show I would have loved when I was sixteen, thankfully I'm not sixteen anymore. Never before have I said, “what the fuck is going on?” so many times in a half hour. The show looks good but has very little substance. The story is thin and the characters often act with no logical sense. There’s violence, nudity, gore, and drug use, but only for the sake of being risqué. Yes, the animation is great, but in my opinion, that is not enough to carry a show. I feel like Devilman: Crybaby would be really good if it only had something to say.
