OMG OMG - or should I say: Oh My Goddess!!! She's C U T E ! ! !. And now I get it.
The story is a winner, the characters got to me, and the merger of the grimy police Dragnet drama and Fairy swordmaster Isekai is working really well. Until it all goes wrong, because this animation is NOT FINISHED!
It's as if the concept art was submitted to the studio that only completed 1/8 frames, and then rather than finishing and/or outsourcing the fillers - it's just sent back to broadcast as is - together with CGI that pays no attention to physics.
I might be spoiled for having seen plenty of epic sword master and gunfight anime - but if only they had invested in more attention to detail and animation for the combat sequences alone, and left the rest incomplete, then the martial arts fan would not be grimacing.
And it's a shame - I really want another studio to pick this up and finish the job. Then we'll have a classic!
