I can't believe no one else has written a review for this.

Basically, the manga is a drawn form of the novel, so if you have read the novel, you'll know what the story is about.

The art isn't very exceptional, it's the normal, everyday kind, so it's what probably caused me to downgrade the score. The character, Momo and Daniel, are not as you call it, three dimensional, however, as they pose as a very cold, even uncaring character, mundane, in fact. However, seeing as this manga series is about the characters that they meet, rather than the shinigami herself, this is easy to overlook.

The storyline is exceptionally crafted, the stories and the messages that Momo seeks to convey are sad and touching. However, seeing as this can be found in the novel as well, I'ld say that the manga is more for people who are too lazy to read the ongoing novels and/or are unable to read japanese.

The main essence that Shinigami No Ballad possesses is in it's story, but the details that the mangaka puts in the environment and the aura is fair.

If you like touching and psychological mangas, this manga is for you, and a must read, leaving you in tears after every sub-story has ended.
