The premise here is about what you would expect when you think of an anime about survival. Four high-school girls of various archetypes get stranded on a desert island and have to survive. They are the sporty tomboy Asuka, the sensitive wallflower Shion, and the studious glasses-girl Mutsu. Rounding out the group is Homare, an otherwise plain looking girl if not for her convenient ability and knowledge of survival. You see, this is because Homare had a bad-ass father who felt that teaching her survival tactics was much more important than boring things like social etiquette and awareness.
This means that the basic structure of an episode is
1) The girls need to perform some basic survival task.
2) Homare does something very strange/extra because of their lack of basic survival tools.
3) The girls are weirded out, but grin and bear it because they don’t want to die.
4) Repeat.
I think most viewers will be able to enjoy the comedy of this one. It generally stems from the strange things Homare does, the girl’s reactions to it, and their struggle with basic survival tasks. The girls (that are not Homare) can be presented as a little dim at times, but none of it feels mean-spirited(And Mutsu seems like she can actually be useful). The main sticking point for some will probably be the ecchi. This show is not shy with it’s wet t-shirts and panty shots, but if you’re not big on that, I would still give this show 2 or 3 episodes if you’re even passively interested. The 1st episode lays it on a little thick, but the show chills out a little bit with more episodes.
