Okay, I just got out of the cinema and let me tell you I am so happy! I had my doubts, I really did. Let me explain. I used to be a die hard Dragon ball fan (and am still a huge fan of the franchise!!).
When I was younger I'd refuse to come down for dinner, or make plans because I absolutely couldn't bare to miss even 1 episode; even reruns :)! I have rewatched the series multiple times and still see the show as one of my favourites today. I absolutely love it and the memories I have because of it. I was so stoked when they decided to revive the series and give us Dragon ball Super, but while I enjoyed it, I couldn't get that same feeling. Only nearing the end of the Super series, did I start to get that nostalgic, hyped, "goosebumpy" feeling back. I definitely enjoyed it, but not in the same way as DB & DBZ. So when they announced a Dragon ball Super movie, I was excited and anxious at the same time. And boyyyyy, did they exceed my expectations!! Sorry for the long intro, let me get into the review :)

Art: 10/10!
Do you miss the old art style? Well you are in for a treat! The art style was much more like DB & DBZ than the Super series and honestly... I loved it! It looked really good and it was awesome to see all the new transformations etc in this style too! Don't get me wrong, the newer art style is great too, but it was really great to see Goku and friends like this again; old art style but in a new jacket!

Animation: 10/10!
It was super smooth, fluid and the fighting scenes just looked amaaazing. Best I've ever seen in a DB animation!

Humor: 10/10!
On point. I've laughed out loud multiple times, there are some really funny moments in there. Classic DB humor :). Great dynamics & back-and-forths between the characters.

You know, it's funny. Broly never did much for me back in the day and I saw him as just a filler character from a non-cannon DB movie (debatable, I know). But today, to me, he became "real". I liked what they did with his backstory and I found him a very likable character. They made this movie fit in with the rest of the story, so that was great!

Overall, I recommend everybody who knows what Dragon Ball is, to watch this film. No, everybody who is into anime; just go watch it, you will probably enjoy it. The movie truly is a masterpiece and it has relit the fire-... no... rather: it set ablaze my passion for the Dragon ball franchise yet again <3
