Preliminary (12/13 eps)
Well, how can I say this, Cells At Work is by far the most educational anime I have seen so far in my history of watching anime. Not to mention its the first time I've seen such show focuses mainly on the interior of the human body, other than Ozzy and Drix. The whole concept concentrates primarily on immunology and injury-response of cells in our body, and yet we haven't seen its involvement in reproduction. It is fascinating how directly pathology/biology explanation can be made so interesting and provides valuable information.

Story: 8
In the early half of the season, each week we get to see how different cells respond to different bacterial invasion into our circulation and organs. Each week we received new lectures on how each cells function (& formed) within the specific area of the body/infection. It fascinates me how narrative the information was provided and application of their duty to the disease. Not to mention we get to witness amazing relationship development between cells to add an entertainment touch to it. Also, comedy was added to provide laughter rather than the boring teaching of functions. The story was directed well to captivate dramatic scenes such as fights between bacteria, and yes, cancer itself. The final episode was icing on the cake as we witness how determined the cells are to keep the body alive.

Fantastic character design especially with the details of the clothing of macrophages and T-Cells. The splashing of blood from bacteria characters was unique and well animated to provide suspense of its eradication. The scenery was magnificently enlivened to represent the interior of the human body parts in a fictional way.

The opening was quite catchy to get the audience excited for the episode with the characters saying its title. Additionally, provides good tunes to create energy in the music. As for the ending, nothing beats ClariS, as a big fan of their music they did not disappoint with the beautifully written piece to provide cheerful rhythm to end the episode. As for background music, especially during fight scenes, was well adapted to the environment to elicit the right feeling to the scenes.

My girl Macrophage is by far my favourite as she is deadly and beautiful with a deathly smile to make my day. Platelets were the stand out favourites for the anime community with the endless memes, clips and merchandises off for grabs, especially with the talent of Naganawa, her amazing childish voice made Platelets the most loveable characters of this series. The RBC and WBC appeared every episode to provide a comedian and romantic development as the season progresses, not to mention they knew each other since their development in the bone marrow. The T-Cells offer much more brutality feeling to them, which reflects how T-Cells are supposed to be in our body.

Enjoyment: 8
Saying that I enjoyed this show is an understatement. Not to mention I upload weekly reaction videos on YouTube on this fantastic series. Each week provides different challenges which make this show the most enjoyable and reflects how educational-flow as the season progresses as each week offers new valuable information to fill my knowledge gap. A good mix of action and comedy, and yes kawaii platelets scenes, sums up how amazing this series is. Providing a bit more social development will push its ranking.

Overall, I highly recommend watching this anime as it provides valuable biology information weekly, and guaranteed fictional description to reinforce the learning.
