Preliminary (Unknown/58 chp)
This was a very hard manga for me to review. I loved how it started, and thought that nothing would alter that. Then the second volume kind of lost me. I was disappointed! I even considered stopping reading. But I had the next volume already, so thought that I would keep on keeping on. And I am glad I did. I was won back in volumes 3-4.

The story itself has been told many times. Teacher and student are married, and hide it from the general population. But in Faster than a Kiss, the story has a freshness, and it is so sweet! In order to "save" Fumino and her brother Teppei, Sensei marries her. The rest of the story is about their developing relationship - their feelings for each other, and their growth as people. It is a wonderfully gentle story, with humour as well.

I really like the characters. Fumino is young - 16 - and she acts like it. A lot of the story kind of focuses on her coming to terms with being a married lady, and figuring out what her relationship with sensei is. Sensei, on the other hand, has a delinquent past, and is even at the start a loving part of the family. Teppei is just gorgeous! He is cute, his cosplaying is adorable, and the little conversations between him and Ryu (the next door neighbour) are great! The minor characters are great too! It is the sort of series where you genuinely care about all the characters.

I really recommend this. It has a slow-ish pace (which almost lost me!) but then it picked up… More than that, I think that enough of the characters was revealed that I *wanted* to know what happens next. So! For those who are after gentle romance, with a non-bastardly male lead, here is one for you :-)
