Scum's Wish is a series not everybody will enjoy. The drama present in this anime deosn't appeal to everyone, alot of watchers will be mad and frustrated with the characters and their actions, but others will probably find a liking to it. I personally really loved this show and now I'm going to tell you why.
~Story
The story of Scum's Wish is dark. It's filled with unrequited crushes, lonelyness, pain and other things of this sort. It shows us the dark side of love, but also gives us some comedy here and there. The pacing is good and the anime stayed close to the original manga. It also isn't afraid to show some expilcit scenes, which had a purpose and weren't bothering me atleast. I overall really liked the story ^^.
~Art
Art and animation are really pretty and look great. I also really like the use of paneling in this show. It makes it stand out and is a really unique way, that haven't seen explored in other shows that much. Even though i have to admit, that i like the manga-artstyle a little more, they tried capturing the original style as much as possible.
~Sound
I really liked the OST and after the show finished airing I listened to it multiple times and fell in love with alot of the tracks (for example the one from ep. 11).
~Characters
All of them have some sorts of unrequited and dark feelings in them (exept one or two), this allone makes them in many ways relateable. None of them are really good and nice people, but this makes them good written characters in a sense. All of them (exept one or two) go trough a developement and at the end of the series all of them (exept one or two) learn from their experience and grow because of it. The character designs are also really pretty, simple and good on the eye. (And Hanabi is super pretty. So pretty, that i already drew her alot lol)
~Enjoyment
I had a lot of fun watching this anime. There were times were i enjoyed the show more than at over times, but was it a really good experience nonetheless.
~Overall
As already said, this anime might not appeal to everyone and i already heard people say, that it was too much drama for them, but I really liked Scum's Wish. It is a show, that i won't forget that easily.
I give it a solid 9/10. I really loved this show and I can recommend it to some, but not to everyone.
