Personally, I do not think that this manga was good. It kept me on my toes, wanting to know how it unfolds.

As for the title, I think that the story's name "Cross" refers to atonement and "Crime" refers to the sin(s) that fuel the story.

There are lots of negative comments about this manga due to the shocking content (i.e. rape, child sexual abuse, murder, prostitution). This is definitely not for sensitive people.

Hatsuki Kyo's art is realistic and appealing to look at.

The story has triggering moments. One of the genres is psychological. For that, we get to dive into the minds of the antagonist and protagonist to understand them. That does not mean that we have to like them. I found them fascinating and was even more fascinated with seeing how they were entirely different people who "co-existed" (in actuality, it is Keito who forced himself into Yuuka's life).

The characters are all very original. They are not likable, but they make the plot. Never before have I seen a character like Keito Saeki. His treatment towards our protagonist, Yuuka Tokano make him out to be a devil in human form. In contrast, Yuuka is an angel in human form. Despite the horrible things he did to her, she survives it all and does not seek revenge. Instead, she shows compassion to her enemy.

I was unimpressed with the final arc of the story (post-climax). Here, there is an abrupt change in Keito's (the former antagonist) character without a chance for development. Then enters Keito's half sister, the new antagonist.

I felt that this story could have been written better in many ways, but I enjoyed it regardless.

Currently, English scanalations have ceased. The raws are fully released online.
