Mixed Feelings
Just got done catching up on this installment as i've already watched the previous 4 "movies" though their all really just a collection of 4 episodes of an anime that were released as soon as they were completed. Gotta say I'm disappointed. I grew up on the original digimon show(s) [grew out of it by the time tamers finished airing in the states] and was looking forward to revisiting the world and characters I grew up with.

Instead what we have is a super confusing fanfction-y ass plot centered around a self-insert OC and her simultaneously the cutest thing ever and also the most edge lord digimon ever. Whats worse is it doesn't even usually feel like digimon until about the 4th episode or so of every batch of episodes (last 20-30 minutes of each movie), and until then we're treating to events either hyping up what a secret edge lord meicoomon is, random cute girls (and digimon) doing cute things, or one of the digidestined being mopey because they have to grow up and be a responsible adult (Joe) or because they can't stop their raging hormones in regards to their other digidestined (various).

I realize that I'm complaining about whats essentially All Grown Up for weebs but still... This is the internet and i'm gonna complain about unimportant shit on the internet while I still can, damnit! (As of this review the FCC repealed net neutrality about a month ago).
