Nisekoi (Manga) add (All reviews)

You either hate it or you love it. Almost all will agree it's trashy.
Honestly, there's nothing new to say about cliches and lack of plot development after a certain point in the series.
But what if I told you getting to the end and finding out who the promise girl is isn't the main thing you should be focused on? What if I told you...
it's the journey that counts?

You see, while almost everyone complains about the cliches and the dumb misunderstandings, what makes the rest of us enjoy the series is the silly misadventures the characters go on chapter after chapter. A bunch of us realize there is no need to rush the finale. And in between chapters here and there we get a little more backstory behind the characters' connected childhoods. Some of us enjoyed the humor and meme worthy faces.

But then of course, after a crap ton of misadventures, everything starts falling into place. I did say it's all about the comedy, but at the same time, the author didn't lose direction. Each girl drops out of the harem one by one, and we keep getting more and more backstory until we do indeed reach the end. And of course it all goes down where it all first began, 10 years ago where they all first met.

In the end, the series can be seen as another run of the mill harem. But if you understand that Nisekoi is all about comedy and not at all serious about romance, then you can enjoy this way more.
