Well, Hai to Gensou no Grimgar was without a doubt one hell of a ride. I personally liked this anime sooo much apart from the few flaws it has.
STORY: You won't get a lot of action and the story is more slice of life based. If you want to see lots of blood and sensation, I wouldn't really recommend it. However, if there are fight scenes, they're extremely good. It will probably be the first time that you'll see such realistic fights because they take every battlefield factor into account. So if you like a slow-paced story with a few really exciting and emotional moments, this is your anime for sure!
CHARACTERS: The MC's aren't really developing throughout the series, but it doesn't mean that they're boring to watch. They each have their own quirks and issues, but they're not that much different from normal teens. They each react different to the same situation they're in. In the beginning, I couldn't bring myself to sympathise with them, but in the end I was like NOOOO, DON'T HURT MY PRECIOUS "insert name" (:
MUSIC: You can hear songs playing during some scenes and it really sets the mood. If it wasn't for the songs, I wouldn't have cried during particular moments.. I feel like such a whuss now lol
ENDING: Like I said, I wont spoil anything but the ending felt kinda "off" for me. There are rumours about a season 2 so maybe that's why it ended the way it did.
ART: The art is AMAZING. I wanted to give this series a 10 just for the art! !!! Just check out some photo's and you'll see what I mean.
OVERALL: I enjoyed this series very much and I'm still looking forward to season 2 !! I'll try to describe my experience in one sentence. Here I'll go... Hai to Gensou no Grigmar is a slow-paced, realistic, emotional ride of feels with many yet unsolved mysteries and pack full of new ideas for your next cosplay !!!
