Gate: Jieitai Kanochi nite, Kaku Tatakaeri is where the present day and the fantasy world collides. Literally.

Having a gate that provides entry to both sides was an interesting watch. With all the stories about how this was supposed to be propaganda for the SDF and all that, it doesn't matter. Purely as an anime point of view, every episode went by as a flash and left me wanting more.

Given that I'm only a starter anime fan, I was happy I picked this title to complete. Obviously the real world's firepower and might would overwhelm the fantasy world, but I saw how much potential the anime can have (although it won't be too late for the production company to follow through with more seasons). With the premise of how differently life is with the advance of technology in the present day, we could have seen more of the understanding between the fantasy world and the SDF and society in present day Japan as a whole: differences, similarities and all the fundamentals of life.

The writers can also pursue more towards the politics of Japan and the other countries towards the importance of the new land and the potential of newer resources and raw materials they could find in the other world (there's a town full of magicians and a big-ass red fire dragon around, we can assume that the raw materials can be used in the development of nuclear power, etc).

Which leads to the next agenda: Magic. Loads of magicians, deities and demigods, etc? There were people complaining that the SDF were OP towards the Imperial army - there's so much potential to getting the battles in a bigger scale - imagine sorcerers and a demigod against riflemen (seriously, I'm pretty sure I can count the small number of casualties in the SDF's side, could've added more depth with a higher amount of wounded or even deaths in the soldiers' ranks.

But all in all, I had fun. This was the whole purpose of catching this anime. So many holes can be filled, and yes since it was a harem, we still needed to see the interactions between the MC and the girls right? I mean, if there wasn't the whole dynamic of the anime would've been different. And I probably wouldn't be this much of a fan. Enjoy, everyone.
