First and foremost, don't watch "Digimon TRI 4: Soushitsu" with any preconceptions of how the episodes will be, don't expect anything whatsoever, otherwise you might end up deeply disappointed.
From the last movies we could already expect that the digimons didn't have any memories from the digidestined, but did they really have to stall for 3 episodes, 75% of the movies, to make the digimons "trust" again their digipartners, thus evolving? The first three episodes will be just that, specially focused on Sora and the word "helpless", (bonus game: drink a shot every time you hear someone calling the other "helpless").
Also, Gennai, we could expect that he would be a bad guy - spoilers, if his menacing grin from the last movies didn't give you that feeling -, he is, and not only that he is probably a molester as well, have ninja abilities and some trick with a purple-pinkish collar.
Another of our good old friends is back, Elecmon, nice to see him, but we also have Machinedramon and Metalseadramon, do you remember? Digimon 1? Everyone was afraid of them? Well looks like that even a Rookie - Salamon - is able to cause some effects on a Mega. Yeah, really.

My feeling when I watched all 4 epsiodes was: "what a freaking mental masturbation, did I wait 5 months for that? A minimal progress to the story that could have been solved in one, maybe two episodes, but no, they had to do it in 4"
I disliked it, we don't know what happened with the digidestined from season 2 yet, we don't know what is the relation of hackmon on the story, there are more question than answers and there is not much time left.
