Reviews

It's been a bit since my last review. It's been a while since I've watched this anime too. But as I was just casually going through my Completed list of animes, I finally felt like writing a review. And I thought this anime was the right choice. Usagi Drop, one of my all-time favorite animes, which was left out of my favorites list because I was indecisive on what anime I should remove. Long intro aside, lets get into this.

Usagi Drop is a cute little story about a man in his thirties, named Daikichi, and his adopted daughter, Rin. I say story, but its really all about the growth of Daikichi and the interactions between the two. And it really is beautiful. This is not an anime for the people who watch anime for the action and epicness that some of them bring. Rather, this is for people who want a lighthearted story about a man trying to be a dad for his adopted child.

Story: 8
I really have no right to rate this. This anime is a slice of life about character interactions rather than plot. All I'll say here is that the ending to this anime was abrupt and sudden. It felt very rushed to say the least, but its about the only complaint I have with this anime. It's also only 11 eps, and I wish it was longer. That's just me being selfish though.^-^

Art & Animation: 10
I love the artstyle of this anime. It's very light and colorful, fitting the tone and mood of this anime perfectly. I love the character designs too, especially Rin. SHE. IS. SO. CUUUTE!!! The animation was good too. I think that an anime of this style doesn't need much budget for animation, but this anime blew my expectations anyway. It's really good.

Sound: 8
OP was fine, but I always skipped the ending theme. The ED just didn't fit my taste. The songs throughout the anime matched the scene they were played on well, but none of them really stuck out. Now, the voice acting was absolutely brilliant. Rin's voice fit her amazingly, and Daikichi's was absolutely stunning too. The sound effects were fine as well.

Character: 10
I love the characters. The characters have such relatable personalities and expressions, all except Rin. Rin is such a goody goody it's impossible. I have never met a 6 year old irl that was as responsible and caring as Rin. Daikichi, I could see the progression his character makes in the anime. He goes from unsure to more confident on what he's doing. And that progression is what makes his character shine. All the side characters had actual depth to them too.

Enjoyment: 10
Is there really a need for me to say anything here? I love this anime very much, and is close to my heart as well.

Overall: 9
I recommend this anime to anyone who likes to watch a slow, heart filled story. This anime really is special among the vast sea of other Slice of Life shows that are always similar to each other. Now, sequel please? x)
